Better Choice Australian Raw Banana Prawn Cutlets

Banana Prawns are mostly caught throughout Northern Australia from Exmouth in Western Australia right across to the Queensland Coast with the bulk of catches coming from the Gulf of Carpentaria.

We process the banana prawns here in our facility in North Wollongong where they are peeled (with tails on) individually quick frozen (IQF) and packed in 1kg packs for wholesale. We also pack into 500g bags which can be found in Woolworths Supermarkets.

These prawns are ideal for for BBQ's, Stir Fries and other recipes that call for green prawns. Please see below a suggested recipe






















Singapore Style Prawns

Ingredients




1kg Better Choice Australian Raw Prawn Cutlets - thawed
1 small clove garlic (10g) - finely chopped
1 small piece ginger (10g) - finely chopped
1 medium onion - sliced
2 medium ripe tomatoes - cut into small wedges
2 green shallots - sliced
1/2 bunch Coriander
1 small red chilli - chopped
2 tbsp Tomato Sauce
1 tsp white sugar
Sesame Oil
Salt & pepper to season


Heat oil in Wok or pan, add thawed prawn cutlets and saute ove high heat until prawns change colour and are cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
Heat a little more oil in the pan and add garlic, ginger & onion and cook for about 1 min on medium-low heat. Add the prawns back to the pan and all other ingredients except for the coriander. Cook for about 2-3minutes to combine flavours. Turn off the heat and stir through coriander just prior to serving. Serve with steamed rice or noodles. Serves 4
